At national firms, the senior professionals close the deal — then hand the work to a team of associates and managers who are capable but still learning. The client pays partner rates for associate hours, and the partner shows up for the status update. It's a model that works for the firm's economics. It doesn't always work for the client.

Patrick Brogan, Founder & Principal
Background
Patrick's career spans the Big 4, corporate finance, and two decades of client-side consulting — giving him a rare perspective that's equally at home in the boardroom and the audit room. He began at EY in Cleveland in external audit, moved into industry as a financial analyst at Swagelok, and ultimately found his calling in internal audit/compliance consulting.
Experience
His engagements have taken him across the US and internationally — from Chicago and Detroit to Cheltenham, England — working with clients in financial services, manufacturing, oil and gas, and not-for-profit. His hands-on expertise spans full audit/SOX direction to detailed process flow documentation and testing.
